1:1 Chromebook Program

Mrs. Nichols

Welcome to Middle School Technology!

Middle School students use technology daily in all academic areas. Students are issued a Chromebook for schoolwork at home and at school.  Students at OLL use Google Apps for Education to complete schoolwork, communicate with faculty, and turn in work.

Curriculum and Goals

Sixth grade students participate in one trimester of Technology to boost their technology skills, improve typing ability, and increase their knowledge of technological systems. In addition to their normal coursework, middle school students at OLL use a variety of online tools for advancing their education including: ALEKS, MyHrw, Khan Academy, TypingClub, and phET simulations. Eighth grade students participate in an MLA Writing Lab which focuses on formatting and proper writing skills to prepare them for high school.

1:1 Chromebook Program

All students in grades six through eight are given a Dell Chromebook 11 3180 to be used at school and at home. The focus of the Chromebook program at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School is to educate the 21st century learner with accessible, personalized, and varied tools and resources.
